Organic Policies Driving Market Development, Innovation and Organic Conversion
We will hold a virtual meeting to discuss how governments can implement organic policies, national or regional action plans and other supporting measures for boosting the development of the organic sector and thus contributing to the transformation of our food systems and the achievement of several SDGs.
Policy makers and advisors from Uganda, Sikkim, Nepal and Denmark will share their direct experiences in setting up and implementing different types of policy frameworks supporting producers and consumers in their respective countries.

- Provide deeper understanding of existing approaches and legal frameworks to operationalise organic principles at the policy level with a focus on organic action plans and other type of supportive policy frameworks.
- Inspire key decision makers on creating conducive policy frameworks for organic agriculture and sustainable and resilient food systems.
- Facilitate and connect policy makers in order to exchange and innovate on how to move towards true sustainability in agriculture.
Besides learning from their experience, this first session is an opportunity to share ideas, questions and concrete suggestions among panelists and participants on how to design and implement such policy frameworks to maximise impact by using synergies among the different elements. We will also explore the main challenges and possible ways to overcome them.
