Louise Luttikholt, our Executive Director, has lead the organisation through some turbulent times, guiding us during a global pandemic and while the need for transformational change continued to grow all the more urgently.
She now wishes to take on other professional challenges and will therefore leave her role from July 31st 2022.
"It’s been a rewarding experience leading IFOAM – Organics International for four years: to accompany and coordinate the organic movement, cooperate with partners, guide the organisational development, bring in new institutional donors and put members – and with that farmers’ organisations and all of their concrete daily hard work – centre stage. I’ve dedicated lots of energy in challenging times and under difficult circumstances. This has affected my well-being and I have now decided to move on to a more practical, hands-on area of work. I remain committed to bringing true sustainability to agriculture!" - Louise Luttikholt
We thank Louise for all her hard work, dedication, and valuable contributions to the organisation and wish her all the very best for the future!
We will soon communicate on our interim Executive Director before initiating the recruitment process for a permanent Executive Director.
Change in Capacity Development
Our capacity development team also recently saw a change in leadership. Alejandro Espinoza and Patricia Flores are now leading this department following the departure of Barbara Zilly. We thank her for her hard work and wish her all the best in her future endeavours!
New strategy
IFOAM - Organics International is about to design a new strategy for the coming years. It is important that we get the input of our membership in all its diversity to ensure it reflects its needs and the organic sector. We’ll soon be in touch with our members about how to contribute your input in the coming weeks.
We thank you for your unwavering support!
Future events
As we prepare for the future, it is important to celebrate our achievements and reflect on how they can inspire the future. One of these moments will happen in October in South Korea. We are now working on an exciting and engaging programme! Updates will follow soon.
World Organic Forum
The V. World Organic Forum will take place on site at Kirchberg Castle, Germany, from June 27 to 30, 2022. In celebration of our 50th anniversary, the programme will feature a festive event and reception that is open to all, with keynote addresses reflecting on the past 50 years of IFOAM - Organics International and looking to the future.
