Organic World Congress 2024 and its side events (Pre-Conference, Bio-Tours, Cultural Trips and Organic Fair) attracted over 3000 attendees and visitors, highlighting global efforts for sustainable food systems.

The Organic World Congress (OWC) 2024, held 30 November – 4 December in Chiayi, Taiwan, marked a historic milestone with a promising turnout of around 3000 participants and visitors from 61 countries. This year’s theme, “Cultivating Organic Solutions for True Sustainabilty,”  highlighted innovative and collabortive efforts and commitment among and between organic stakeholders – farmers, producers, researcher, policy-makers and advocates towards sustainable food systems on a global scale.

We want to thank all participants for their invaluable contributions to making this year's OWC a resounding success.

Check out what some of our attendees said about their OWC experiences:

"Because of the policy design, farmers in Kenya who aren't interested in fertilisers, hybrid seeds or any kind of this input don't benefit from the subsidy programmes or any other kind of support, " said Daniel Wanjama, Vice President of Inter-Continental Network of Organic Farmers Organisations (INOFO)

“We may have to sacrifice some production value and yield, but in the long run, what we gain is human health," shared Kao Chun-Liang from the Taoyuan Daxi District Vegetable Production and Marketing Class No. 10.

"Since my first OWC participation in 1996, I have witnessed its growth into a leading platform for shaping the future of organic agriculture. The 21st OWC in Taiwan, despite being organized on short notice, was remarkable for its seamless execution and innovative content," wrote Dr. Mahesh Chander, Principal Scientist (Agricultural Extension) and Former Head of the Extension Education, ICAR-Veterinary Research Institute.

A Message from Karen Mapusua, President of IFOAM – Organics International

“As we close this chapter and look to the future, I want us to leave here with a renewed sense of purpose and solidarity – and energy! The challenges we face are great, but so is our potential to drive transformative change. We are a global community united by a vision of a better, more sustainable world, and that is something truly extraordinary. We are at a critical juncture for change and must deepen our roots while growing our canopy. We do, I believe,as a movement and organisation need to reflect on who we want to be, and what is needed to really put our principles of health ecology fairness and care into practice. As its said, you can’t expect different results if you keep doing the same things. As great systems thinker Buckminster Fuller said ‘You never change things by fighting he existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.’

Thank you, everyone. We were all energised by the OWC this past week - Let’s carry that energy forward as we continue to grow, innovate, and inspire.”

A huge thank you to our diamond sponsors for their tremendous support for this event!
