GFFA26: In Search of Stronger Partnerships for the Future of Food Systems

From 14–16 January 2026, IFOAM – Organics International participated in the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) with the aim of strengthening partnerships and expanding collaborative networks with the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Regional Identity, alongside other like-minded organisations committed to sustainable food systems.

IFOAM – Organics International was represented by Executive Director Ravi Prasad, Senior Manager for Membership and Operations Thomas Cierpka, and Project Coordinator Madhur Gandhi. During the forum, the delegation engaged in constructive dialogue and explored potential synergies with a range of organisations and institutions, including Brot für die Welt, the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food & Regional Identity (BMLEH).

There was strong interest in IFOAM – Organics International’s ongoing work in the Himalayan region through the Himalayan Agroecology Initiative (HAI), as well as in several African countries under the Agroecology Promotion Programme (APP). These exchanges highlighted shared priorities and opened avenues for deeper cooperation.

Looking ahead, IFOAM – Organics International will build on these engagements to further strengthen collaboration with partners, with the objective of enhancing the sustainability, reach, and impact of its initiatives across target regions.
