At IFOAM – Organics International, facilitating dialogue, collaboration, and the exchange of knowledge across the organic movement is central to our mission. In recent weeks, our International Office in Bonn had the privilege of hosting three international delegations, each contributing to this crucial mission of cross-continental cooperation.
Deepening Regional Collaboration with IFOAM Asia
Visit from Vice President Prof. Qiao Yuhui | 24 June 2025
On 24 June 2025, we had the pleasure of welcoming Professor Qiao Yuhui, Vice President of IFOAM Asia, and Li Feng, China Coordinator, to our International Office. The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to gain insights into the current priorities and strategic goals of the organic movement in China and the broader East Asian region.
Discussions focused on regional development trajectories, long-term objectives, and the evolving policy and stakeholder landscape. This exchange underscored our shared commitment to building stronger bridges within the global organic movement.

Organic Regulation and Certification with the Japanese Delegation
Visit by Japanese Delegation | 26 June 2025
On 26 June 2025, a delegation from Japan, including representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and other key stakeholders, visited us for an in-depth exchange on organic policy and practices.
Key topics included the impact of the EU Organic Regulation (2018/848) on Japanese producers, challenges in staffing for organic certification bodies amid sector growth, and the interplay between EU and Japanese organic regulations. The meeting concluded with a shared vision for enhancing international collaboration and building resilient certification systems to support the expansion of organic agriculture globally.
Advancing Cooperation on Agroecology
Visit by Colombian Delegation | 30 June 2025
On 30 June 2025, we hosted a delegation of ten organic and agroecological experts and practitioners from Colombia. The visit centred on current and future areas of cooperation between Germany and Colombia in promoting organic and agroecological farming.
The dialogue explored ongoing bilateral initiatives and identified new opportunities for joint efforts in areas such as knowledge exchange, technical support, and sustainable rural development. Strengthening this partnership will contribute to advancing agroecological transformation in both regions.
