As part of our commitment to advancing Organic 3.0 and resilient food systems, IFOAM – Organics International is proud to spotlight the ongoing work of the IFOAM Seeds Platform, a vital initiative dedicated to strengthening the organic seed sector globally.
Through collaborative Working Groups, the Seeds Platform is addressing key challenges and opportunities in the sector, from technical and political barriers to societal and economic dimensions. These groups are developing tools, strategies, and services to benefit all actors in the seed value chain—from breeders to farmers to consumers.
From Global Collaboration to National Action
The Seeds Platform not only fosters global dialogue but also supports the creation of National Working Groups that localise solutions to country-specific contexts. These self-organised groups reflect our participatory approach to system change and are supported by the Seeds Platform Secretariat.
We encourage stakeholders interested in advancing organic seeds in their region to get involved. Whether by starting a National Working Group or contributing to an existing one, your participation can help build stronger, more diverse seed systems around the world.
